Recently, I started the process of updating my portfolio site design and code. Since the overall site that houses the portfolio runs on PHP, my first step was to convert the underlying code to use PHP includes and whatnot. Read More…Just over the course of last week, I did a minor re-design of this website. For better readability, I reversed the background between the header/sidebar area and the content area.
So now the content area has a white background for better text legibility. Before, the background directly behind the content text might have been distracting for readers.
In addition, I switched the link colors in the main content area to blue, while the sidebar has the copper color links.
Recently, I was making some small changes to the look and feel of this website’s WordPress theme. But, even after exploring Gulp I was still using an older method for updating. Updating this website meant a tedious process.

Since I had a Zazzle acoount for a while and a new Pinterest account, I wanted to find out more about how to promote Zazzle products with Pinterest- mine and others. At first I used Zazzle’s Pinterest button under Share Link. But, for my own products it was not producing Rich Pins.

Recently I installed XFCE for a request to update one of my GTK themes. Anyway, another thing I needed was a way to start Apache and MySQL for my local WordPress install. I prefer to be able to start and stop these services rather than have them always on. So, I placed new items in a menu for this purpose.
